My preformed rough slabs have all or most of the pits and open fractures removed and the front and back smoothed to produce a more acceptable slab for you to finish as a cab or specimen.


2 East Java purple Chalcedony preformed slabs

Origin: North East Java, Indonesia.

Colors: Iridescent purple and black basalt matrix

Characteristics: There are 2 types of chalcedony that came from the same region of E. Java, one is an outstanding clear iridescent lavender color. The other a beautiful purple/lavender chalcedony with black basalt matrix still attached which really stand out as being different and beautiful. The purple is a deep iridescent color and with its mirror shine it just glows. This material surfaced several years ago and the area they were working is now a rock quarry for roads in Java. This slab is pretty much in a Cabochon form and only needs polishing for a final finish or keep as a specimen. This is very rare, most of the East Java items you see on the internet are cabs that I have finished and sold. I no longer make cabochons and all my rough will eventually be sold off. Don't miss out on some of this beautiful material.

Do not use acetone or something like it when cleaning, the Basalt will not survive.

An 18 mm dime and 10 mm background squares in some pictures should help you with image sizing.
