Our shop's in Windsor, California, USA, selling lapidary preformed (shaped) slabs and specimen chunks, also cleaned ancient Greek and Roman coins ready for jewelry.

My preformed (shaped) rough slabs are mostly small to medium size. I cut out all open fractures and ugly pits. I will try and note anything unusual in a slab (druzy, small pits, natural sealed fractures, etc.). I sanded all sides with 180 diamond grit, they are ready for you to finish with a finer grit and polish. Where else can you find preformed sanded and shaped specimen slabs ready for you to finish into beautiful cabs or specimens with little effort. No cutting is necessary unless you want them smaller.

Most of my lapidary chunks are good cutting material, and small enough for a small 6 to 10 inch saw. Most of the chunks are specimen grade and ready for your cabinet. If your looking for something special drop us a line, we may have it.

APACHE AGATE PREFORMED SLAB READY TO CAB Approx Size: 25 x 32 x 5 mm, Weight : 44 ct

Origin: The Apache Agate deposit is located in a remote part of the Chihuahua district in Mexico.

Characteristics: red and black agate with beautiful translucent quartz, it will make a gorgeous cabochon or put it in your cabinet with a backlight for a standout specimen. No pits or open fractures, tiny internal fractures show on the back. Rough original material is is very hard to find on the internet, a lower grade found in a different area is available.


DENDRITIC AGATE PREFORMED SLAB READY TO CAB Approx size: 23 x 33 x 4 mm, Weight: 33.5 ct.

Characteristics: preformed rough slab cut from my agate rough but I don't know which one. It's a beautiful translucent agate with black dendrites and small areas of rust color that really make the dendrites stand out. Fracture lines on back and front, can be see in the pictures. They may disappear during finishing. Even with them it will make a beautiful cab or specimen when finished.

MEDICINE BOW BLACK PLUME PREFORMED READY TO CAB Approx size: 25 x 35 x 5 mm, weight: 50.4 ct

Characteristics: White with black dendrites, material is from Wyoming. preformed
to make it easier for you to finish. Medicine Bow plume agate is renowned for its black dendrites on a white or gray matrix. No fractures, druzy pit on the front and back. Create a unique cabochon or keep for a display specimen.


An 18 mm dime and 10 mm background squares in some pictures should help you with image sizing.

I use a full spectrum 45 w light bulb - photography photo CFL 5500K. It's a daylight balanced pure white light.

My first pictures show the slabs wet. Other pictures show items dry which should show imperfections (small cracks or pits) when there are some.
