Chrome Chalcedony Cabochon, 27 x 44 x 4 mm, flat back, natural stone (c62403)

Sorry, this item has sold.

Our shop's in Windsor, California, USA, selling lapidary preformed (shaped) slabs and specimen chunks, also cleaned ancient Greek and Roman coins ready for jewelry.

The MISC section has close out lapidary supplies at great prices. Lapidary supplies and other items will be added when we have time to add them.

My preformed (shaped) rough slabs are mostly small to medium size. I cut out all open fractures and ugly pits. I will try and note anything unusual in a slab (druzy, small pits, natural sealed fractures, etc.). I sanded all sides with 180 diamond grit, they are ready for you to finish with a finer grit and polish. Where else can you find preformed sanded and shaped specimen slabs ready for you to finish into beautiful cabs or specimens with little effort. No cutting is necessary unless you want them smaller.

Most of my lapidary chunks are good cutting material, and small enough for a small 6 to 10 inch saw. Most of the chunks are specimen grade and ready for your cabinet. If your looking for something special drop us a line, we may have it.
Rare Chrome Chalcedony Designer Cabochon

Origin: Western Australia

Colors: Green mottled chalcedony

Characteristics: Mirror polish front and back, flat back with small pits (material vents), translucent green with inclusions, only naturally sealed fracture lines. rare material, this is a beautiful cab or keep as a unique and rare specimen. Black plastic stand is included.

Approx size: 27 x 44 x 4 mm. Weight 52 ct

This material is a silicified rock only found on top of the ground in Australia, the main cause for being extremely rare. The chalcedony is a beautiful mottled emerald green with inclusions. The matrix also takes on the chrome chalcedony color. Pitting can be seen in the light colored matrix, looks like the result of venting.

Chrome chalcedony has been found in a number of places in Western Australia, this came from near the town of Newman which is approximately 700 miles north of the capital, Perth.

It's rare because it's found only on the surface not under ground. The Australians say it's also to expensive to locate because it's remote and there isn't any water in the area that it's found in. I've seen some other material like this that was found last year, it doesn't look like as nice as the material I have from the original location.
