I try to remove all ugly pits and open fractures. I think my pictures are good showing size and color, true beauty can only be seen when you have them in hand. Despite its name, “Turritella agate” is not made of fossil snails of the genus Turritella but that name has persisted for a long time so that is what we use. The snails are actually properly referred to as Elimia tenera, in the faily Pleuroceridae. From the Green River Formation in Southwestern Wyoming, Northeastern Utah, and Northwestern Colorado, found in layers deposited in a series of ancient lakes, in the early and middle parts of the Eocene Epoch, between 42 to 53 million years ago.

IMPERIAL JASPER/AGATE, preformed, shaped and polished, mirror polish on flat front and back. Colors: multi colored, transparent (rare), no pits or fractures. I cut this from the side of a large rough chunk many years ago. Stand included.

SMALL BANDED GEODE SLICE, small slab, preformed, mirror polish on front, banded (6 bands), natural, mixed colors, no fractures, smooth flat back and front, 3 sections between bands, crystal on top, white agate in middle and the bottom looks like sagenite crystals. Stand included. Origin: unknown.
