I prefinished this slab by removing ugly pits and fractures and trimmed away anything that didn't look good. I shaped it and gave it a final 1200 diamond grit sanded smooth finish. Based on their physical makeup some end up with a really nice shine, sometimes like a mirror. If I have to leave anything in, like pits or fractures, I will mention them in the below description. This slab is nice enough to use in your designer jewelry or in your collection.

SLAB DESCRIPTION:

RARE BIGGS PICTURE JASPER, reddish brown banding, brown and gray tones make up this beautiful old stock stone. It's a prefinished slab with a 1200 grit mirror finish. Easy to make into a beautiful jewelry or keep as a specimens. Very rare material. Highly collectable because of it's unique pictures and it's rareity. Flat and smooth sides, rounded edges. Some dendrites at the top of the slab. Small pit in upper left, last picture shows it. Special plastic stand included to help you display it as a very rare specimen.

Biggs Picture Jasper comes from Biggs Junction, Oregon where the famous Blue Biggs jasper was found in a road cut. That area where it was found is now a park and it's paved over, making it inaccessible for digging. Its hardness is about 7 on the Moh's scale. Biggs Jasper is a rare semiprecious stone .

Jasper is the mystical birthstone for October. Fancy Jasper such as Biggs is sometimes used to help with depression or when something is bothering you. Darker colored Jasper is said to be more grounded and can be used for protection.
