Small RARE HYALITE Opal slab with a smooth mirror finish. All sides are flat with a litle rounding at the edge. The black magnesite is dendritic. Hyalite Opal is also known by other names such as Bacon Opal, Bubble Opal and Candy Stripe Opal, the name depends on how they look. This slab will make a nice ring. This Hyalite opal came from the same area as the Candy Stripe Opal. This is only found In the shadow of the Mineral Mountains near Milford, Utah. Hyalite opal is a colorless version of common opal, but due to inclusions of hematite and other minerals from this location the Opal can take on different colors, this one is white, gray and black, and green.
