I created 4 smooth slabs and gave them a 1200 grit shine and converted them into a cabochon with flat front, back and sides. They are all suitable for jewelry or keep as a specimen or collectible cab.
We prefinish our lapidary slabs by trimming away anything that doesn't look good, and we give it a final 1200 diamond grit sanded smooth finish. Based on their makeup, they end up with a nice glow, or a bright or mirror shine. If I have to leave anything in, like pits or fractures, I will mention them in the below descriptions.
