I created a smooth slab, gave it a beautiful shine and converted it into a cabochon with a flat front, back and sides. It has a smooth surface without pits and open fractures making it suitable for jewelry or a specimen. We prefinish our lapidary slabs by trimming away anything that doesn't look good, and we give it a final 1200 diamond grit sanded smooth finish. Based on their makeup, they end up with a nice glow, or a bright or mirror shine. If I have to leave anything in, like pits or fractures, I will mention them in the below description.
My shipping charge is $4.99 for any number of listings, if the total is over $35 you get free shipping. Current discout is 25% off all cabochons.
It's hard to take pictures that show true beauty, we know you will be pleased if you make a purchase. If the cab is displayed on a plastic stand it is included free of charge.

Rare petrified driftwood. No enhancements. Peanut Wood is a rare and beautiful petrified drift wood from Australia. Rare because it's rarely mined, mainly because it required heavy equipment to get it out of the ground, and by the lack of water at the location found. The lighter areas of the stone are made by a marine wood-boring bivalve named Teredo.
This is an ancient drift wood that sank to the mud at the bottom of the ocean and remained for millions of years. as a drift wood it is now found along the edges of the Kennedy Ranges about 100 miles inland from the coastal town of Carnarvon, Western Australia. The geological formation found in makes it around 120 million years old. The wood is of several varieties, the main ones being "Araucaria"...a conifer & podocarp, called Peanut wood because it resembled peanuts.
