This lapidary slab was preformed. We wanted to make something that was easy for you to finish, or ready to be used asis. We prefinish our slabs by trimmeing away anything that doesn't look good, and we give it a 1200 grit sanded smooth finish. It's hard to take pictures that show the true beauty of the slabs, we know you will be pleased if you make a purchase.

PREFORMED SLAB DESCRIPTIONS:

6 small rare preformed lapidary slabs. They are ready to finish or use any one of them asis. The small size can be used for rings, accents or pendants. All fronts and backs are flat. I preformed all of these to make it easier if you wanted to further finish them with your favorite polish. If I have to leave anything in like pits or fractures I will put it in the below descriptions.

RARE MYRICKITE, Opalized Metacinnabar, Cinnabar and Chalcedony. Teardrop shape. Named for the famous Death Valley gemstone prospector "Shady" Myrick. Opalized cinnabar is found in many areas, this was found at the Manhatten Gold mine (MClaughlin deposit in Napa/Lake County, Calif.) It's a nice specimen for your small cabinet, ring or accent stone.

DENDRITIC OPAL (Merlinite), white Quartzite and black Manganese dendrites, natural stone, moss like dendrites. There is confusion about what they are calling this material. Its real name is Merlinite but most call it Dendritic Opal mainly because of the opalescence (chatoyancy) in the white Quartzite and the manganese (moss like) dendrites. This small preformed slab will make a nice ring, accent or pendant. Origin Australia.

RARE HORNITOS POPPY JASPER preformed slab, cushion shape, red and pink flower orbs with reddish purple surrounding, ring size preformed slab, ready to finish or use asis for a specimen or cab. Small druzy pocket on the back (nice enough to use as the front), from Hunters Valley, Mariposa, Calif.

RARE EAST JAVA PURPLE CHALCEDONY, this slab is now a cab and it has high polished sides. its natural colors are white (probably Calcite), lavendar purple (Chalcedony) and black (Basalt). It's translucent, flat on the back. This material is now very rare and even highly sought after by the Indonesia Gem and Jewelry trade. Recent inquiry on more rough shows there is non available. Calcite and Basalt will melt away if it comes in contact with alcohol, I learned that when I finished some an earlier piece. This will make a beautiful ring or pendant.

RARE BLUE PERUVIAN OPAL, preformed slab. hiigh polish with 1200 grit. Mixed natural colors of blue. Translucent, internal inclusions of white and light brown colors. No pits or fractures, It's unique and with the 8.5 mm thickness it would make a nice ring. It's guaranteed natural. Use asis for a beautiful specimen or make it into a gorgeous cab, ring or pendant. Origin: Peru.

DENDRITIC AGATE wih dendrites, preformed slab, oblong shape, black and clear color, ring size, finished with 1200 grit slab so you can use it asis. for a specimen, pendant or cab. No pits or fractures.

Use my pictures with the 10 x 10 mm background squares and the 18 mm dime to help with size visualization. All pictures show a slab that has been given a nice glow or bright polish using 600-1200 diamond grit.,

I do my best in removing all the pits and open fractures and I smooth all sides. I will note anything I couldn't remove. Your going to get a slab that is going to be easy to finish or use asis. If your going to make a cab you will find it a lot easier with my slabs. No waste to deal with.
