Rare Hyalite picture Opal, sanded & prefinished slab, all sides flat, mirror finish, tiny pits, 1 sealed fracture, from Utah (25191)

I prefinished this slab by removing ugly pits and fractures and trimmed away anything that didn't look good. I shaped it and gave it a final 1200 diamond grit sanded smooth finish. Based on their physical makeup some end up with a really nice shine, sometimes like a mirror. If I have to leave anything in, like pits or fractures, I will mention them in the below description. This slab is nice enough to use in your designer jewelry or in your collection.

SLAB DESCRIPTION:

RARE HYALITE Opal picture slap with a smooth mirror finish. Front, back and sides are flat. The black magnesite is dendritic and the overall surface has a few small pits because of the inclusions, they are hard to see. Hyalite Opal is also known by other names such as Bacon Opal,Bubble Opal and Candy Stripe Opal, the name depends on how they look. The plastic stand is included.
Approx size: 33 x 21 x 5.2 mm, 41.5 ct.

This Hyalite Opal came from the same area as the Candy Stripe Opal. This is only found In the shadow of the Mineral Mountains near Milford, Utah. Hyalite opal is a colorless version of common opal, but due to inclusions of hematite and other minerals from this location the Opal can take on different colors, this one is white, gray and black, and green.
