Lapidary slabs preformed by DesignsbyShirl in Windsor, Calif. My small to medium slabs are rare, scarce or unique and one of a kind. They are preformed by sanding and shaping them. They have flat backs and fronts, all sides are smoothed with 600 diamond grit to make it easier for you to finish. Most have a glow or brighter finish so you can use them asis in jewelry or as a specimen, if stand is shown it's included free.

SLAB CHARACTERISTICS:

Rare Russian thunderegg agate slice, 21 x 36 x 6.5 mm, 54 ct, black, red, and gray colors with black and white inclusions floating in a clear quartz which has a yellow glow with a backlight,. No enhancements, cut from a thunderegg I purchased from a Russian dealer at the Tucson Gem show more than 20 years ago. No open fractures or pits. Some surface fracturing can be seen in the pictures, they may disapear when the slab is finished or hard to see when polished. Black plastic Stand is included.

INFO ON SLABS

Use my pictures with the 10 x 10 mm background squares and the 18 mm dime to help with size visualization. All pictures show a dry slab with subdued colors. Polishing aor finishing the slab may brighten most colors.

I try to eliminate all the pits and open fractures and I smooth all sides. I will note anything I couldn't remove or you can't see in the pictures. You going to get a slab that is going to be easy to finish. I preform the slabs by sanding and shaping them with 120 to 600 diamond grit, making sure all grit lines are removed with each grit used, this gives the slab a superior looking finish. My preform really helps you cut down the time it takes you to finish these slabs. No waste to deal with..
