SLAB DESCRIPTION:

Nevada Blue Boy rough lapidary slab, preformed sanded and shaped, 16.5 x 39 x 4.5 mm, 26.5 ct, black matrix and green Variscite, long teardrop shape, I finished it with a final 600 grit diamond grit making it ready to polish. It's also ready for jewelry with a nice shine wirewrap, place in your specimen cabinet or use as a raw stone in metaphysics. No pits or fractures

I purchased this from an estate sale with a tag said it was from Esmeralda County, Nevada. Unless your at the mine when something comes out it's somtimes difficult to know where it came from. Based on pictures, it compares closely to material from the Blue Boy Mine in Esmeralda, Nevada. There are several other mines that produced Variscite with a black matrix but their Variscite didn't really compare to this material.

INFO ON SLABS

Use my pictures with the 10 x 10 mm background squares and the 18 mm dime to help with size visualization. All pictures are taken dry.

I try to eliminate all the pits and open fractures and I smooth all sides. In the descriptions I will note anything I couldn't remove. You get a slab that is going to be easy to finish. I preform the slabs by sanding and shaping them with 120 to 600 diamond grit. All you need to do with this one is give it a mirror polish. My preform really helps you cut down the time it takes you to finish these slabs. No waste to deal with..
