Royal Imperial Jasper

Origin: Northern Mexico

Characteristics: cut nodule, 1 3/4 x 2 5.8" x 1 1/4", 4.4 oz . Colors are lavender and gray tones. Multiple orbs with with 1 small pit in the middle which probably can be taken out with a little sanding. I sanded the backside to show the orbs, polish the specimen and use either the front and back to show its beauty.

Royal Imperial Jasper is found in northern Mexico, they're normally small nodules as opposed to Imperial Jasper which is similar in colors but found in large veins and comes in much bigger pieces. Some years back they were finding a lot nodules on top of the ground, now they don't and the rough now is pretty much disappearing. This jasper produces a mirror polish and looks great in jewelry or ipolish and put it n a display case. The outer color is hard to identify but I think it is close to a blue/green color.

I use a full spectrum 45 w light bulb - photography photo CFL 5500K. It's a daylight balanced pure white light.

An 18 mm dime and 10 mm background squares in some pictures might help you with image sizing.
