Origin: Not really sure, it's a very old stock that could of come from the Owyhee area in Oregon. Out of the many examples of yellow rock on the internet there is nothing exactly like this rock only similar.

Characteristics: I sliced it on 3 sides, the first picture is on the end and you can cut 7" of slabs starting at this end cut. The dimensions of this end cut is 4" x 5 1/2 x 7". the side cut is (1 1/2" - 4 ") x 7", the bottom cut is 7" x 5". From what I can see there is very small pits and very little fracturing or none at all. Based on the cabs I have polished this material will give you a nice luster polished cab..
