Preformed rough slabs: My slabs have all or most of the pits and fractures removed and all sides smoothed with 180 diamond grit. This produces a better looking slab and makes it easier for you to produce multiple cabs and/or a finished specimen.

Characteristics: African Bloodstone (Cherry Orchard agate, Lava Agate). Gray/green and red, translucence in the green/gray quartz. This material turns into beautiful cabs with a mirror polish. No pits or open fractures, some naturally sealed fracture lines which is normal for this material. preformed to make it easier for you to finish.

My recommendation for finishing my slabs is to start with 325 diamond grit and finish with 600 grit before polishing. I have created several posts that show how I create cabs, see my website blog on Designsbyshirl.com.

I use a full spectrum 45 w light bulb - photography photo CFL 5500K. It's a daylight balanced pure white light.

My first 4 pictures show the slabs wet, this brings out the colors you should see in a finished product. Other pictures show items dry, this would show imperfections (small cracks or pits) if there are any. Translucent items will have at least one picture taken with a backlight.
