EGYPT. Alexandria. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Bronze, 18 x 2.5 mm, 4.1 g, I found this info on another coin [AΥT K T AIΛ AΔP ANT] (the only legends I can make out on this coin are P AN), Laureate head of Antoninus Pius right with is probably a laurel wreath on his head, it's hard to make out his beard but it looks like it's there, I don't know who else it looks like, the left arm is holding a robe or drapery and his left leg is lifted and his foot is resting on something I can't make out.

All my research didn't turn up an exact match but came close with this one. There are some other letters to the left of his head that an expert could possibly id.

My research is limited because of the missing legends but the examples I'v seen are pretty close to this coin. My price is negotiable.

Approx size: 18 x 2.5 mm, Weight: 4.1 grams. This coin was cleaned electronically of the loose dirt and mud covering the coin, much of the patina is still intact.

Antoninus was Roman Emperor from 138 -161. He built temples, theaters, and mausoleums, promoted the arts and sciences, and bestowed honors and financial rewards upon the teachers of rhetoric and philosophy. There are no records of any military related acts in hi time in which he participated.

My coins are cleaned to make them more presentable for jewelry, display, and to help in identification. I can only guarantee they are authentic through my research. Please read the following.

If you have a report on the coin that states all the particulars of the coin and attests to the authenticity, shows pictures of both the front and back, that report would have cost a minimum of $40, and it would of come from an accredited dealer that is authorized to evaluate a coin. I normally had to clean the coins when I got them. I then researched them on the internet and in books in order to identify them. If your worried about your coin being a counterfeit or copy, don't be, counterfeit coins have been identified from as far back as the time the originals were made, even experts would have a hard time identifying a lot these types of coins, as for fakes, most copies are poorly made and are easy to identify To help with identifying some of my coins I used internet sites that show fakes along side the originals and point out the differences.
